| Welcome to the EVERY DROP COUNTS website. Your on-line source for water information, teacher resources, water activities and links to a vast selection of water related web sites. EVERY DROP COUNTS has been developed by the Alberta Irrigation Projects Association in conjunction with the United Nations Water for Life Decade, Iunctus Geomatics, and Alberta Education.
The EVERY DROP COUNTS project includes a complete set of approved curriculum materials and resources for Alberta’s grade 8 teachers and students. Dive into this site and swim through our water facts, interactive games and downloadable documents.
Have an inside look at the making of the EVERY DROP COUNTS four-part video series. The four videos have been developed with the direct input of Grade 8 teachers and students who wanted a video teaching aid that would engage students with real-world dialogue, age appropriate humour, and interesting educational content. The videos provide an exciting starting point for the course curriculum and are available free of charge to all grade 8 classrooms in Alberta.

Jessie, Jolsen, Mercedes & Ben are four average grade 8 students who decide to join a song writing contest to try and win the cash prize and maybe, just maybe, become famous. Problem is they don't have a band, don’t have a song, and don’t know very much about the contest theme “Water in Canada”.
Follow the kids as they learn to work together while taking a fascinating trip into the wonderful world of water. |
