C.S.I.

Welcome to C.S.I. (Cool Satelite Imagery). The object of this game is to find landmarks with aquatic significance in the Province Of Alberta, using satellite imagery provided by the helpful folks at IUNCTUS and the TerraEngine interface.

Instructions

The Game is divided into two screens. The left screen provides you with the target you need to look for, a place to input the 'X' and 'Y' coordinates generated by the TerraEngine, and a window where you can get some hints, if you you need them.

The right screen is the TerraEngine and is where you'll find the interactive satellite map of the province. Using this map you'll be able to zoom in on any number of locations in the province, and find your designated target.

When you think you've found the target, take the coordinates supplied by the TerraEngine and input them into spot in the left window. Hit 'submit' and see if you're right.

The TerraEngine

The TerraEngine has it's own set of controls which we'll cover here.

These arrows will move the TerraEngine back to a previously visited screen, and forward again.
This button will let you zoom in on a certain area of the map
This button lets you 'pull out' to a wider view on the map
The pointer will center the map on the selected spot
By selecting specific 'Layers' you can have the TerraEngine display major rivers, roads, and provincial boundaries, that will help you with your navigation.
This is where the TerraEngine will display the 'X' and 'Y' coordinates that you will need to input into the left window. The coordinates refer to the position that your cursor is pointing to.
This drop-down menu has several predefined locations to choose from. Some of the hints will refer you to these bookmarks, and help you find your target.

Once you've found one target, you can move on to the next by clicking on the 'Next' button, located at the bottom of the left window.
