Central Alberta

Pigeon Lake

 

Located 45 km's west of Wetaskiwin, Pigeon Lake is a popular spot for boating, fishing, water-skiing and swimming.

Amenities include: camping, beaches swimming, hiking, birding, snowmobiling, fishing, water-skiing, and windsurfing. The town of Mulhurst and the Village of Pigeon Lake are located on the shores of the lake.

Pine Lake

A popular vacation spot Pine Lake is located 44 km's east of Penhold.

Amenities include: fishing, boat rentals, birding, beaches, water-skiing, camping, cabins,and golfing.


Sylvan Lake

 

Located an hour and a half north of Calgary, Sylvan Lake is a center for a large number of water related recreational activities.

Amenities include: water slides, boating, beaches, swimming, fishing volleyball, water-skiing, windsurfing, golf, birding, and sailing.

Gull Lake

Located 17 km west of Lacombe, Gull Lake is the site of Alberta's first provincial park, Aspen Beach.

Amenities include: fishing,baseball, beaches, swimming, sailing, outdoor exhibits, wind-surfing, water-skiing and camping

Ghost Reservoir

Located 18 km's west of Cochrane Ghost Reservoir is known for it's beautiful scenery, and windy conditions.

Lake Minnewanka

Lake Minnewanka is a 15 minute drive from Banff, and inside the national park. It's a popular place for boat tours, fishing and diving. The spectacular scenery also makes it a great place for hiking and day trips.
